Acrylic Glazing for Large Frames
I've got a couple of large prints to mount and frame that will end up being approx 1.5m by 1m in size. I've always used 3mm or 4mm thick float glass in the past for large pieces, but I want to go the acrylic route this time for ease of handling. I'm not sure what thickness the acrylic needs to be as I've limited experience of using it. Due to the price of the acrylic, I don't want to over-engineer things, but can anybody suggest the minimum thickness I'll need to use?

I would think 3mm acrylic will be perfectly fine. If you go up to 4mm, the increase in weight is pretty significant.
I have used 3mm acrylic for bigger frames than that and not had the frames come back!
Good luck.

I agree with Nick.
3mm should be fine.
The only time I have used 4mm acrylic was on a 2m X 1.5m frame which is double the size of the one you're talking about.

That's quite a big frames and will need to be quite solidly made. Getting pieces of wood two metres long, will probably buying lumber to be able to do it. Your a brave man tackling a big job like this. Handlling it and delivering it to the customer is not going to be easy!
