Pilkingtons Galleria Glass vs TruVue /Artglass

Post by dcowan100 »

Has anyone used Pilkingtons Galleria glass as an alternative to TruVue or Artglass? It looks like a cost comparable glass to ar70 or ar99.

Thanks
Dave.

I've not seen or heard of it available from any of the wholesale framing suppliers.

I hadn't heard of it either, but a quick internet search tells me (from the Pilkington glass brochure)

Pilkington Galleria™
Pilkington Galleria™ picture framing glass
diffuses light across its surface so that instead
of harsh, sharp reflexion, the reflected image
is reduced to a soft sheen. Framed as close to
the picture as possible, Pilkington Galleria™
will enhance the visibility of any framed print,
photograph or watercolour.

So it sounds as though it is like the old diffused (non-reflective) from the 1990s, and nothing anything like AR70.
