Most uk suppliers state the FATG levels for their boards

Nielsen’s Artcare range has black/coloured core boards which have the same spec as the rest of the artcare range plus solid blacks and even a solid black alphaRAG board.

Simple answer is no. You can get solid black in cotton, but any black core with white or cream face paper isn’t Level 2 Conservation. It would be Level 4 Standard board.

John mentioned Nielsen boards - a lot of their coloured core and solid core have been discontinued.

Jim’s suggestion of using a barrier board is a good one. Or paint the bevel black maybe?

Nielsen still have two off whites on black core in their artcare range as well as soild black - which could be used in a double mount. As for them being conservation, well, they're in their artcare "active protection" range.

I know they have discontinued a whole load of mount colours so maybe this is only while stocks last.
