Hello Framers
Just thought I'd introduce myself to you all. I have been checking out all areas of this forum for over a week now and have found it very addictive, what a fantastic resource for someone like myself who is just embarking on framing for the first time.
About me, I'm 36 years of age and just over half way through a 10 week basic framing course held in Edinburgh and have been enjoying it very much. I am at a point now where I need to buy some basic framing tools so I can work on stuff at home.
Motives: Short term I want to be able to get some basic framing / mounting projects on the go and finished. Medium term as skills/knowledge develop I would like to invest in better gear with a view to producing higher quality finished products. The Medium/Long term goal would be to retreat from my current work environment of public sector finance (it's as exciting as it sounds!) and Into a home based framing enterprise.
Well that would be the plan anyway, I better get on with it!
So long for now
Dave E

Welcome Dave.
You seem to have the right idea. Best not to jump in with both feet.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum.
I'm just down the A71 in Stonehouse, so give me a shout if you want to pop in and see what I do.

Hi Dave,
Interesting intro, I spent 30 years making decorative wall decor and got into it via hobby-redundancy-re-training, though my re-training was self taught and more along the lines of invention. I wish you luck in your pathway, popping in here from time to time enlivens my retirement as the grass roots give me more hope for creativity. Just come back from a week in Edinburgh, wonderful visit, stimulating place but bags of room for improvement.
