Hi, new member seeking thoughts on wholesalers

Post by newbie1 » Wed 10 Dec, 2014 11:29 am

Hi.
I am a new member here and am getting started in the framing world.

I would really appreciate other members thoughts on wholesalers to use. There's so many wholesalers out there if anyone has any pointers from experience a quick lowdown on the market I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Aaron

Welcome Aaron. :D

Lots of suppliers as you say. Some do everything you are likely to need and some have gaps in their range.

D&J Simons in Hackney do a good range of mouldings. The most comprehensive supplier is probably Wessex pictures who have branches all over the country and deliver in their own van, so easy to make up smaller orders. They carry ranges from other wholesalers such as Arqadia. Which is handy.

Lion Picture Framing do a huge range of sundries and gizmos including the more specialised stuff that nobody else does.

Thanks prospero, very helpful.

I am going to the bank next week to get a small loan for the business. What do the experienced framers think of the market? Bank wants projections so just wanted to get an idea of whether there is growth in the market or it is stable or even whether it is slowing down.

Would be very helpful as I don't want to tell porkies!

Thanks
