Help - TAURUS PNU wedges Urgently needed!

Post by Steve_Slimm »

Hello Framers Forum - great to find you!
I suppose I'm here only for one purpose - which is selfish in the extreme . . . but who knows I might find other reasons to stay . . .
I'm an artist with my own framing equipment in-studio (used by various, including myself)
I've mosied along nicely for several years with my Morso slicer and Taurus under-pinner - but suddenly my world is shattered - NO TAURUS PNU WEDGES being made any more!
Is there anyone out there who still has supplies of these? Whatever sizes I will buy them off you. I'd really like to run this baby as long as possible, before being forced into a few hundred quid for a new machine.
Thanks,
Happy framing,
Steve ;)

I had this problem and couldn't find any anywhere

bought a new cassese from Phil at Ashworth and Thompson in the end
had a good deal from them and it's a very good machine

Hi Tim,

thanks for your response. I'm thinking I might have to do similar - soon! I'll give it a week or two. S

3 seconds with google came up with these; presume they're not what you're after? http://www.framersequipment.co.uk/taurus_wedges.htm

Hi James, Thanks for that. I'm pretty sure these are they whom I rang ages ago - and they assured me the website isn't up to date! But I will check tomorrow - just to make sure!
Thanks,
Steve

As Taurus no longer exist you could also try:

we did all the above
framers corner had none left and Inmes were discontinuing the range for lack of demand

the only other thing we explored was getting the chute and face plate changed to accommodate universal wedges

didn't get that far though
if someone knows a decent engineer or metal worker, it may be possible
