Another newbie
Good evening everyone
I have been around framing mainly photos for the past 10 years occasionally expanding into medals and other things. Keen to learn new things and hope that joining your forum will allow this to happen. However I am sure I shall ask some apparently stupid questions....

Thanks for the warm welcome.
It is a lonely place working on your own sometimes and I am sure that this forum will help and allow the sharing of thoughts, concerns and issues generally.
Thanks for allowing me to join you

Re: Another newbie
Very good observation, John.
Though I'm only just getting started myself, it has occurred to me that framing can be pretty solitary.
I thoroughly recommend trawling through the back posts here: not only is it a mine of priceless information, but there is a fair amount of laughs in there, too. (Some very dry humour around these here parts, and that's right up my street.)
One of the nicest things someone on here said to me was: "Whatever mistakes and cock-ups you make, we've all done them - and worse". That really set me at my ease.
Welcome again, amigo.

That sounds like one of my pearls of wisdom.cleaver wrote:

Another one is: "The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask".

Re: Another newbie
I refuse to believe you even approach my levels of stupidity, Mr P
Recent example: I made my own Morso blade boxes recently. To make the metal washers captive, I epoxy glued them into the recessed holes in the box lids, then tightened them with wing nuts (to hold them in pace as the glue dried).
Well, some of the glue oozed into the bolt threads, and the wing nuts wouldn't shift - even with pliers. I had to disassemble the boxes, then angle-grind the bolts off
