Newbie Greetings from Farnborough, Hants

Post by seesaw101 »

Hello Fellow Forumites,

A quick introduction.
I have decided to turn a vague hobby, started in the Colonies in 2006, into something more serious. Have been back "home" in the UK since Dec 2007 and am impressed with the attitude of fellow framers towards helping and assisting each other, all to benefit the framing industry. I am certainly looking forward to digesting all the valuable hints and tips from all of you with a wealth of experience and thus, hopefully, improve my skills.

The Fine Arts Guild seems to be a serious and welcome association regarding improving the industry. Would it be considered advisable to get accreditation and become member?

Again, thanks for the privilege of joining the forum and I look forward to a great relationship.

Hi seesaw, and welcome to the forum.

If you search FATG or Fine Art Trade Guild you will discover that almost everyone has put their 'two-pennyworth' into answering this question before, so we probably don't need to re-run all the answers.

All I would say, is you are right, the FATG are serious about helping the trade, and yes, get as much education as you can, and a formal qualification can be highly beneficial for you, and your customers.
