Hello

Post by stanstraw »

Hi, my names Stan and recently retired due to ill health. I now live in Derby and recently started painting watercolours and other mediums. Just starting out framing so I can frame my art for myself and others in the art class I'm attending and have joined the forum hoping to gain some insight and advice. Also to make a little money I hope in order to pay for my art materials plus I've found something I can do that my condition allows so now feel useful again:-)

Regards
Stan

Thanks for the welcome chaps. My painting is coming on OK at the moment, won a prize the other week at the class for best painting voted for by the other students so quite pleased :D My mount cutter arrived yesterday so will be getting in some practice very soon. Very addictive this framing lark :D

Cheers

Welcome Stan :)
You are lucky to have found this forum so early in your framing career
There are a lot of framers who still haven't found it
Go ahead and ask any questions - it sometimes amazes me how helpful everyone is
But search first - the answer may already be in previous posts.

Derby eh ....... the city of one way streets is about all I can recall :head:

I have visited distributors and framers in 90 countries - no two are the same.

Hi Keith,
Thank you for the welcome. Fortunately I was put in the direction of the forum from a chap who I purchased my underpinner from, he was extremely helpful. I have been and shall be searching for information already discussed you can be sure of that :)

Derby, yes the traffic system is decidedly very dodgy :head: If I remember correctly the chap who first designed the traffic system in Derby was well and truly sacked  for creating a night mare of a system, with traffic entering and leaving at junctions in very dangerous circumstances.

Anyway thanks again for the welcome.

Cheers
Stan
