Calling London framers

Post by Frank »

I am going to be in London late June and would like to visit framers to include in an article for Profile magazine. Profile is a trade magazine for the Australian framing industry. I hope to catch up with Louise from the FATG while I'm there but would be interested in hearing what else or who else would be of interest to a visiting framer.

Hi Frank,

Welcome to the forum.

If you have no luck with those shy London framers, there will always be a warm welcome here at Scenes for yourself, or any other forum member who makes it across the Irish Sea to sunny Belfast. :)

Even further north than Manchester... the Lake District... if you like real weather... :rain: :sun:

Sorry I should have said welcome to the forum   I wasn't embracing our northern reputation of being friendly

Its actually scorching in Manchester at the moment, and even though we don't have the Olympics (Sydney did beat us to the 2000 Olympics) we did have the commonwealth games :giggle: :giggle:

We also serve a decent pint of beer as well not flat like in London.

Hey Frank,

Nice to hear you are coming over

If you happen to make it out to the South West - we are based in Bristol & I would be very pleased & proud to show you where & how we make "Australia's favourite drymounting products" - HOT PRESS!!!

It would make a great article for the magazine too :D

For anyone who doesn't already know Frank - he is a top guy & the main man behind the Sydney Framing Show & Profile Magazine
Your too late I'm afraid - I retired in April 2024 :sun:

thanks for the warm welcome. It sure would be nice to be able to spend a bit of time visiting you all. But, I am kind of stuck in London for the week I will be in England. A friend of mine owns the worlds best race horse and she is running at Royal Ascot. And although I have no interest in horses my wife fancies the idea of putting on a silly hat and prancing around the royal enclosure. Which is why we are flying all the way to England for a week. But if any of you guys find yourself in London I would love to buy you a drink.

Hi Frank and welcome to the forum.

I'm in South London/North Surrey and always enjoy talking framing so would like to show you around if you can make it. Can probably show you some stuff that's a bit different as well. Look forward to hearing from you.

I'm in a place called Carshalton, about 2 miles from Croydon, we are in Greater London, but the address is Surrey. Depends who you are talking to whether we say we're in London or Surrey, try not to mention the Croydon bit.

It has lemonade in it. The Bavarian Purity laws never mention artificially sweetened fruit flavoured beverages being added to beer.

Now which forum am I on framing or homebrew :?:

Oh and as a proud northerner it has no head.

What's with all this talk of drinking.... Does my reputation precede me??
Now I will partake in most drinks what are offered me, but every time I have been to England for some reason the beer has been warm. Obviously I would rather a cold shandy than a warm beer. Anyway for the record I would mostly rather a whiskey. Irish is good or a single malt scotch.
But kev, that coffee in the centre of London sounds good. Where exactly is this dead centre of the civilized world?
