A simple imitation red tortoishell frame. The effect was placed over a plain reverse profile.

Looks great. Not so sure about the 'simple' though?!! Simple to me is some bare oak, a tin of wax and a soft cloth! Would you consider sharing some of your hand finishing methods, materials and techniques? Perhaps posting in members only if you don't want your secrets out in the open?

Will keep you in mind so that when I am next asked to make one, I will send you an example of the acrylic shell with an explanation. You need an example to see how the effect is developed. It isn't difficult, just understanding a simple process that's all that's required. Looks particularly good under a gold or schlagg leaf.
