"tortoishell" frame.

A simple imitation red tortoishell frame. The effect was placed over a plain reverse profile.

Looks great. Not so sure about the 'simple' though?!! :? Simple to me is some bare oak, a tin of wax and a soft cloth! Would you consider sharing some of your hand finishing methods, materials and techniques? Perhaps posting in members only if you don't want your secrets out in the open? :giggle:

Will keep you in mind so that when I am next asked to make one, I will send you an example of the acrylic shell with an explanation. You need an example to see how the effect is developed. It isn't difficult, just understanding a simple process that's all that's required. Looks particularly good under a gold or schlagg leaf.
