framing and forum virgin

Post by justcat14 »

hello framing forum folks. first foray into a forum of any kind so excuse my etiquette. recently acquired some used framing equipment. hoping to do
a bit of hobby work to get me up to or near scratch. i live in wiltshire and was informed by a retired framer that there was a supplier based in swindon but i cannot locate. need to acquire a host of materials and wondered if anyone knew of any wiltshire based wholesalers. obviously there are some well known online distributors but as a novice i would like to meet a supplier for their experience and expertise. also, ordering in bulk when i am unsure of what my friends friend might want seems illogical and absolutely uneconomical. i hope someone can offer some assistance.

Welcome to the forum justcat14,
Where in Wiltshire are you, if you are in the west, you could try Bristol Framing Supplies , I know that's not Wilts, but it's near.

Hello and welcome. When I lived in Salisbury I occasionally used a company on Churchdown Industrial estate - can't remember the name but they were a small family run business.

thanks steve and steve. i live near swindon so i guess a trip down the motorway to bristol wont be too bad. had a look at framing supplies in salisbury and nothing matched that address. seems most of the smaller suppliers have died out. thanks again. best get busy.
