A "well done" to the FATG for producing a right good read with the April edition.

I thought 'The trouble with Morso is.....' article by Mike Bond was excellent. I'd recommend every framer with a guillotine type moulding cutter to read it as it covers maintenance as well as problem solving.

Hope it is better than the last issue which I flicked through, put aside and did not re-open!

I would agree about the Morso article, a definite must read, so that gives us something to do over the Easter weekend :giggle:

It would be lovely to read it but we are still waiting for our copy :-(

I'll just have to read my PFM whilst I'm waiting.

In the letters section there's a letter from Pete Bingham referring to a letter from the last issue which referred to an article in the one before that.

I thought 'Man, could they use a quote facility'!

I was surprised to read about lubricating the outside faces of the blades as a method of reducing chipping at the outside edges of the cut mitre, so I tried it and it works!

It's not even something that would ever have occurred to me, but it's well worth knowing!

I have not read this article, what is suggested for lubrication of the blades? This is something I tried years ago, whilst I found some successes in reducing chipping , I found that the glue was weaker bonded to the silicon coated wood.

It seems that there's always a "catch" somewhere, with everything which seemed like a good idea at the time. Oh, well! :head:
