Are we busy at the moment or not?
I talk to other framers quite regularly as well as the businesses I frame for and nearly everybody says how quiet it is right now.
I know there will be some out there who say they are snowed under but generally speaking are you finding business a bit slack?
The current excuses are that summer holidays are still being paid for and that people haven't woken up to the fact that Christmas is fast approaching.
How are you finding things?

Re: Are we busy at the moment or not?
We are quite busy right now and if this continues I think that we will be turning away orders for Christmas earlier than usual this year. The earlier part of the year was not good, due to problems with my health, but by the end of the financial year, this could be one of the best years that we've had for a while.
We are still somewhat concerned about our forthcoming road closure, but we have currently got quite a reasonable number of restoration jobs to do after Christmas, so I am hoping that this will make up for any problems caused by the road closure.
Our new price chart will be finished in the next week, or two and this will help our bottom line a little bit as well.
I am wondering what effect increasing the national minimum wage in line with the living wage and reducing the tax credits will have on people spending money in the new year. I know quite a few people who are going to be a lot worse off, but I think that different parts of the country will be affected in different ways.

Re: Are we busy at the moment or not?
We had a slow summer, but are very busy at the moment, we have four full time framers and a photographer, so when it goes slack it is a bit scary, I think part of the problem we had is all the excess money we took in the Christmas period of last year I spent on the photography studio (over 20k) and did not leave enough of a contingency for any quiet spells, looking at a dwindling bank account exacerbates the feeling of being quiet, I suppose buying the cs939, and having it installed wasn't the best idea in a quiet period either, still I am glad we did, as it is proving invaluable now we are busy again, I am not spending anything this year

Rushed of my feet, probably taken half my months budgeted total already this week already. December will be quiet for me though unless I get some bespoke trade in.

Very busy Half Term, now as quiet as we would expect with just 'newly weds and nearly deads' - time to catch up and and getting ready for the mad Christmas/New Year week.

Well......It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Ev'rywhere you go; Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again With candy canes and silver lanes aglow. ...
Fingers crossed I'll be awash with football shirts again this year
