Mounting a thin paper map

Post by Bigfishsmallworld »

Hi All

I need to mount an old fairly thin paper map. I am wanting to fix it to a piece of foam board. Do I need to dry mount this with dry mount tissue or could I chance using a general purpose spray adhesive?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Drymount is a lot better than 'general purpose spray adhesive' most (90%)of the time it will bubble up

Dry-mounting should be OK on a technical level. If the map has any value the drymounting will essentially
render it worthless to a collector.

Spray glues are strictly a temporary thing. As Steve says, it WILL bubble/detach sooner or later.
