Hi All,

Are these keys used much in the framing world?

Saw them on Lion's site and wondered if they are often used (if so, why), as opposed to stacking wedges.

:)

Hi Dan
Yes they are used with a Hoffmann Dovetail router to join frames, an alternative to Underpinning.
Horses for courses. If like me, you join a lot of hardwood frames and only have a foot operated underpinner, the Hoffmann does a much better job than the underpinner.

Thanks, Justin. Jeez, that looks like an expensive set-up.

Is yours the same...may I ask what sort of money a decent router set-up would cost / good models?

Aaaah, just found a thread on the Grumble about this!

But views from this side of the pond would be great to see (e.g. do UK framers use this system as much?)

I really must stop being trigger-happy starting threads on subjects that have been covered!

I promise to use Google and the search facility on here more
