Apologies, I may have been a bit quick as I thought it was the Ultimat Gold.

As somebody new to framing, I understand you can upgrade the Ultimat to the Ultimat gold? Is thus the case? And are there any real differences?

The main (if not the only?) difference between the ultimat and the ultimat gold is the ability to 'dial out' over/undercuts on the start-of-cut and end-of-cut stops and the same for adjustment on the mat guide.

There's a little 'T' shaped foot protruding from the stop housing that moves in or out with the turn of a knob - IOW you can adjust the stop to the measuring scale.

With the Ultimat you adjust the measuring scale to the stop by sliding the scale, which isn't difficult. I suppose you could buy the gold stops direct from Keencut if you wanted.
