Framing Workshop Manager needed

Post by goldmark »

We are a thriving art gallery, selling art all over the world, with in-house framing workshop, employing a small but growing team of framers.

We have been selling the work of some of the world’s leading 20th century and contemporary artists for over 30 years and pride ourselves in its presentation.

We produce high quality, conservation picture frames for our own gallery, trade clients and private individuals
All members of our team must respect these fragile and valuable items, and can present them sympathetically and creatively. A good eye is essential.

After 11 years in the post, our framing manager is moving on and we now have a vacancy.

The successful applicant will be skilled in all processes required to make high quality hand made frames for both our art gallery and for the general public.

The applicant will be required to be an effective and enthusiastic workshop manager with good people skills and be able to communicate and manage the team in a busy workshop environment.

We are looking for a strong leader with a creative yet practical flair.

Other skills required:

Ability to discuss framing with members of the public
Precise organisation of workflow.
Ability to work under stress
Use of database software and ms office.
Invoicing, ordering, stock control

I am looking for temp work in a framing shop - not good to spend rands with this exchange rate. I have a framing business in Knysna SA, have a Fine Arts Degree, am passionate about art, very creative and excellent at my job. (Right through from the initial consultation to the hanging of the artwork) If you need help in any way let me know. Daily, hourly or whatever. I am currently waiting for a care work placement so no strings attached.
