Wall Easel?

Post by Whitewater Gallery »

Hi, another one of my off the wall questions (sorry for the pun :giggle: ) We are just finishing converting our new garage into a studio for my wife who is now working on canvases up to 7 feet long which she is supporting over 2 floor easels. We are looking for a wall mounted system like this I have found in the USA

Has anyone seem something like this for sale or have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Do mabef do anything like that? most eaels in this country now are cheap chinnese imports. Global Ar Supplies are the UK distributor of Mabef. Failing that why not buy a studio easel and cannibalize two of them.

Just googled 'wall mounted easel uk' and found these

here

However it would probably be cheaper to cannibalize two cheaper studio easels. :D

If aesthetics aren't top of the list ,you could try DIY wall easels - something along these lines-

I think if faced with the same problem I would just make a long shelf with a lip along the front edge. Maybe concoct some little 'catchers' on the top edge. :D

At the moment I think we will be going down the cannibalisation route suggested by Graysalchemy. I think we will use 3 easels so a wide canvas can balance on the central one and be moved up to the required height then bringing the side 2 into position to support.
