30 second work.

It's been conservatively valued by the specialists at Jolly Good Framers at somewhere in the region of tuppence.

You can only be young once. But you can always be immature.

What happens to everyone's hard work after the competition has finished?

Do you get it back or do they sell it in the run up to Christmas and try and make a nice little profit on running the competition?

Seems rather extravagant, did you have to pay an entry fee?
No - the prints are sent direct from the artist, no charge; no entrance fee - I've no idea if they are the same sizes etc as advertised - maybe there is a special 'edition' for this competition - but as they are limited editions, that should not be the case.

If they are different sizes as well as different images it's even weirder!

All framed entries will be auctioned or sold after the competition to raise funds for Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Well, that's put me in my place! A very worthy cause too!

Well, I'll go ahead - started so I'll finish ... made my choice - not telling!

I'll photograph the finished thing and the framing of it stage-by-stage incase it does not make the top ten.

Would have helped Google if I'd spelt it right first go.... (previous post now edited to correct spelling).

First bit: "Very good!"

Second bit would loosely translate as "the mutt's nuts" (if you'll pardon the slight vulgarity) (rough pronunuciation "lee-a-road-ee na modrah")

A Klingon Beast of Burden, R'udov, had a red nose.
I confess that its nose was quite shiny.
As soon as one perchance saw this Klingon Beast of Burden,
one would be obliged to say, "This nose glows."
The other Klingon Beasts of Burden, upon continually staring at it,
kept laughing and always kept mocking it.
The vicious ones perpetually and deliberately forbade R'udov
from participating in Klingon Beast of Burden games!
However, on the day before K'irshmarsh, beneath the clouds,
Shantak'lorsh began speaking:
"My R'udov, who have a glowing nose,
as for my vehicle, today you shall navigate it!"
Soon the Klingon Beasts of Burden starting behaving as his friends.
They all started rejoicing and saying:
"R'udov, you who have a red nose,
as for your honour, we shall never contradict it!"

OK, I suppose you can, but how do you pronounce that word - Gaeilge - I haven't come across that one before?

Well - I received the email from ....

Mark .........
Publisher
Picture Business, Tableware International, Gifts Today, Greetings Today
Magazines & The Gift Directory

...on 25th of last month. It said the images and rules were 'attached' and sure enough there was an attachment - 5 items - 4 images and the rules.

Couldn't open the images - didn't read the rules too closely - wait 'til the print comes.

Emailed 'can't open the images' - No reply. Then found that that the pictures were actually IN the email - I just had not clicked on 'Show images and enable links' - because I wasn't expecting any!!!

So - emailed to say 'forget last email' and added the question 'what size is the image - and what on - paper, canvas ... as per artist's website?'

No reply. So, anyway, made my choice - emailed it and asked again - what size. No reply.

Today I'm thinking I've heard nothing; no print has arrived (I know the answer to my question now - it was in TPB - big article showing the images - they are all 17x17 - so - is that in addition to the 'editions' - well, yes - but is that ...... well, whatever - 17x17. Article also said all successful applicants should have received their prints by now - that was 2 weeks ago)

I'm thinking it must be over a week now - it's over two weeks - so I go back to the email and looked at the rules I'd downloaded and read on .......

As one of the first 50 framers to apply for entry you will be receiving your limited edition print direct from George Ioannou, the artist. The prints will be posted to you in the next couple of weeks. In the event of you not receiving your print, please call: George Ioannou on 020 .........

Sounds like 'OK - that's my butt covered'

I won't be doing this comp - it's too late, if the print turns up it's going back - I'm not chasing anyone - done my bit, just like he has.

TPB - part of much bigger animal - new editor, last one lasted, what, 2 issues? Too busy for me? - Well vicky vercky pal!

Christmas rush started with a vengeance today - 30 orders - well, one of them was not for Xmas - a 'corporate' - sort of - job - possibly 30 frames done the way I was going to do this one. Big project for January with 3 samples made next week, (more on a new topic later) so that and more, I know, will write off any time to do this after Christmas, and before is now out too, all hell is breaking loose here - full Robo Mode!

Had chosen Keith Richards BTW - just to hopefully be different!

Anyone want to do this comp? If so let me know by PM and I'll see if they will take you in my place - not that they'll read the email!!!

If not I'll let them know on Monday - in Dragon's Den style "..... and for those reasons - I'm out!"
