HI!
I'm stuck! Nearly took my eye out! Working with a decorative shaped, difficult moulding. It's thin round the outside and thicker where the mount board/picture is so that when I clamp it and tighter it the clamp slips off. Any suggestions? Are there clamps with tiny corners for this kind of thing?
Any help would be appreciated.

Flat moulding off cuts with rebate just over half the depth of the moulding you are joining. make two chevrons annd pin them together back to back. The moulding you are clamping sits in the gap made by the rebates. Make One for each corner. Keep for reuse.

I get that problem too when I try to clamp a reverse moulding. One way is to cover the whole work with a sheet of glass and then weigh each clamped corner down with a heavy book or tin of paint. That will stop the clamps flipping up as you tighten the clamp.

thanks so much for the replies. I thought no one has responded as no notifications. I ended up laying my body on the whole lot. But the joins are not tight like my wood ones so may try it again. Trying to get my head around Geospectrum's advice. Is there a video on this method? Thanks
