What Moulding?

Post by cleeve_prints »

I hope someone can help?

I have a customer who has just moved to the area and has asked if I can frame a picture for him in the same moulding as his other pictures. So far I have failed to locate it in any of my catalogues, Arqadia, Simons, lion, Wessex. Does anyone have any idea who supplies this moulding. It is 40mm wide light oak with a lime wash finish. I don't think its a hand finished one as I can't locate a bare face oak with the same profile. Please see the pictures. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like A860 by Rose & Hollis. I know others do a version of it. Looks like limed finish - R&H also sell liming paste.

Try Nielsen's Oakwoods range. I'm at home at the moment, so don't have the sample to hand. It may not be 40mm though...

Another thought: Byron used to do something like this. Not available any more of course.

Are you sure it's oak and not ash?

Ash 8 from Simons is the exact same profile - dunno if they do the same one in oak - Arqadia do the same one in ash - but again I dunno about oak.

Both are plainwoods and would need liming.
