Old newbie but its not too sore

Post by Davie000 »

Hi, fast approaching 60 and been a framer for 30 years just on the outskirts of Edinburgh, I have come on to this forum now and then for years and had many a chuckle from some of the posts. I have a workshop and a mix of framing from contract to artists and street trade, which keeps me on my toes, I used to sell artwork but gave it up a few years ago to concentrate on the framing finding that enough to keep me going, and will often have other framers from the town phoning to pick my brains about either machines breaking down or a problem on how to frame something, as well as cutting glass thats too big for them to handle, or simply their place is not big enough to stock 6x4 glass. So i thought id just give a shout out to all you good folks and this fantastic forum.

Hello Davie, welcome to the FF :D

Once upon a time, like you, those 6' x 4' sheets of glass held no fear  these days I'm more than happy with those sissy half sheets. :giggle:

Must agree with you, this is a "fantastic forum"

Peter.

Yeah they can be a little daunting, its just so much of my framing is very big and way over half sheet size, still its just a knack of cutting and not on the system 5000, i cut it all free hand, finding it much faster that way....times money! :giggle:
