Framers ONLY Facebook group - cool video about frame shop in a bus
Anyone watched the interview with USA lady framer whose husband has converted a school bus into a frame shop?
She drives to the customer, who comes on the bus to select mdg , mats and glass etc.
Then goes home and frames it her workshop
The video is available in Framers ONLY on Facebook.
You probably have to join the group to be able to watch the video.
Great idea - can see it catching on over here, especially with older buyers who find going into town and parking, then walking a hassle
If anyone knows how to post a link to the video please do so.
I tried but it came up " You dont have permission to view it!
Just added this to help you find the video
Join Mo and Treasure Anne Dragseth for a tour of her mobile frame shop. She converted a yellow school bus into a gorgeous mobile frame shop. You can watch in the group or YouTube. See link in first comments below.

Tried to join this group a few times but refuse to answer the questions requesting information about which suppliers you use and full name and address. Really? for a facebook group?

Technoframer,
Private Facebook groups are no different than any other business group. They just want to keep out people who are not into their industry.
Your unwillingness to prove that you are in the industry and have a useful need to be there is you loss and not theirs. They have a lot of info regarding costs and margins; therefore not a topic that should be bantered about.

Thank you. Great idea, very interesting, reminds me of the old days, out selling framed pictures from a van to retailers. Before town centres became pedestrian only.

Personally I will not join it, as on fb, you can never find posts again, so if you are following one out of intrest, you have a job to find updates, where on a forum, the thread is easy to findtechnoframer wrote: ↑Wed 30 Dec, 2020 12:52 pm Tried to join this group a few times but refuse to answer the questions requesting information about which suppliers you use and full name and address. Plus a lot of the members (IMHO) are a load of 'know it all ' ( ) if it an't done it their way, then it's the wrong way, plus soo fed up with the Americanism , inches, mats etc and rabbit not rebate

Steve,
I agree with most of what you say.
You are old enough to be able to speak in inches and or metric without thinking
The Framers ONLY can be a real PITA.
I found best way is to simply "SEARCH" each time you log on either for a key word or thread starter,
But Mo Eylas is doing something nobody else has tried
A virtual Frame Show to replace the WCAF show that occurs every Jan in Las Vegas,
He has asked Mfgs and Distributors to send him a short vid made on a mobile phone.
He will upload all to a site where anyone can watch any of the videos.
Mo is trying something not done before, so is to be congratulated and supported.
Excuse the larger type face. I struggle to read the smaller typeface

Why the larger font in the last post?

Command/Control +/- to change font size on pretty much any browser.
Command/Control Alt Shift V paste in place (doesn't inherit the formatting of the source text/document)
It hadn't occured to me that you could embiggen type here - learned a new thing!

Yes Keith. I saw the video. I understand Sainsburys and Tesco are going to add it to their home delivery service along with Amazon Prime. The bus will be routing around our workshops before long! It's a great forum with lots of lovely & talented individuals, but that one ain't for me

In response to Steve N. You'll always find know it alls in any group Steve. I love these forums. They are all stimulating, educational and entertaining. Mo is doing a great job there in the USA. He is a doer and I admire him for that. This group has always had exactly the same potential to engage in the same way. It does to a large extent and that should be applauded. Some years ago when I held a different roll in the industry, I wanted to engage with the forum, but was occasionally met with personal abuse from people who didn't even know me & I therefore decided to step back & just watch. The self appointed "experts" had not the slightest idea about what went on in certain sectors of our art and framing industry, yet were always very quick to spout their opinions in writing on here. I feel that things are a lot better now & many of those "know it alls" aren't present on the forum now!
