This morning we agreed that I would give my Wife some washline training. The actual training only lasted about 5 minutes as she couldn't wait to get her hands on my 1922 Deitzgen ruling pen. One image is her practicing, the other is here completing some wash lined mounts for me about an hour later. Result!!
My point in posting is twofold, how great it is to share skills and how some skills can look daunting but be picked up in a relatively short space of time.
The Joy of Sharing Skills.

That's more like it!
Brilliant partnership too. Is that for a customer?

Thanks Jo
Yes Dermot, a couple of sad looking prints in for a remount. It's a win-win as it's not a part of the job that I particularly enjoy, whereas Erica really loved it!

Great! From what I can see, it's a good job too!

I think you have made a mistake,
NEVER EVER let someone else use your ruling pen, as it wears in the way you hold and use it, same as a good old fastion fountain pen, same as a good glass cutter, they wear the same
But apart from that, great work, you' will have to take more orders in now,
I love doing line work,

It's a 1922 Dietzgen ruling pen. I expect someone has used it before me! Anyway, it's all part of my cunning plan to find the jobs that my Wife will love doing. If it involves a pen or a blade she's in, although saying that it has taken me a few years to persuade her to try washlines, but she loves it. It's a job that just stresses me out when I'm busy, now I just get to quality control her work instead...
