System 4000 hardboard head

Post by bang »

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement hardboard cutting head for an old system 4000?

I know they're pretty ancient now... but aside from the chipped wheels on the head it still works great!

Thanks!

Would also be interested in this; same situation for me!
Has anyone sourced replacement cutting discs and if so, details please.

Also interested, my system 4000 has been excellent, but the hardboard wheels could do with replacing.

Speak to keencut

It looks like you may be in luck but would have to buy the housing as well.

It says it’s compatible with the old 3000, so hopefully it’ll be good for the 4000 too.

Thanks for the link John, but Keencut advise this is incompatible.

My reply from.keencut...

Sorry, as you stated the System 4000 is now a very old machine that was discontinued about 30 years ago. Keencut no longer carries parts forthis machie and to my knoweldge our dealers no longer have parts for this machine either.

Sorry I am not able to asssit further,

....

My next option is that I'm going to take the cutting head along to a good tooling shop I know of to see if they can recondition the cutting discs. 🤞

I'll let everyone know how I get on.
