Hydraulic oil for Morso EH

Post by boscawen46 »

Hi ,
I am shortly going to service my Morso EH guillotine. I have sourced a reasonably priced new filter but can anyone suggest a good reasonably priced hydraulic oil please. Does it need to be specific for Morso machines or can it be a general hydraulic oil?
Thanks

Can we assume that it will be used indoors? I would not consider this type of equipment undergoing "extreme use" as cold weather outdoor construction equipment or for medical or food industries. Therefor, I would think that most any hydraulic fluid would be satisfactory.

I think Jfeig was referring to it being ISO32, I had to Google it, but it's a low viscosity oil:
"ISO 32 hydraulic fluid is a type of hydraulic oil with a specific viscosity grade, categorized as "ISO 32" according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards; it's considered a lower viscosity oil, making it suitable for applications requiring fast response and smooth operation in equipment like forklifts, agricultural machinery, and hydraulic rams, especially in cooler environments".
So it should be fine for a Morso, but you probably don't need that spec if there is a cheaper one, unless your workshop is unheated. I'm no expert in this...

Hi,

I got this with my 2nd hand EH Morso - bought from a high volume experienced framer -

I also see that Lion sells - https://www.lionpic.co.uk/p/13320/Hydra ... orso-EH-6L
