We have embraced AI with satisfying results!
Following the last budget we have had to become a leaner operation as now even our least paid employee costs us over £30k a year when you include holiday cover, employers NI and pension, and until recently we had 9 staff. We have recently made 1 redundant and more will go as we introduce more efficiencies
AI now sorts our incoming emails and processes our multi channel online sales and also out over the counter sales. It calculates all materials required far more quickly and accurately than any human could, and even puts the order in to relevant websites, but does currently wait for human confirmation before the order is sent. It also keeps production on time and notifies customers if there are any delays.
This allows staff to spend their time making rather than all the ancillary tasks that are really time consuming.

AI tools are being trialled to track sales patterns, monitor productivity, and offer insights into inventory and staffing needs—enabling more informed decision-making

Generative AI is used for writing product descriptions, generating mail shots, and crafting blog posts—maintaining consistency while saving large amounts of time

Plans are also well underway to develop AI chatbots to handle common customer queries regarding all aspects of framing, which will be embedded on our websites. We have now discovered a system that allows these bots to be trained on internal documentation and FAQs to provide tailored responses to most questions on conservation of art and framing.

So in summary, AI adoption supports Courtyard Framing’s goals of scaling efficiently, reducing admin workload, and hopefully, improving customer experience by having a knowledgeable assistant available 24/7!
