We are considering buying an electro-hydrolic morso and would appreciate comments from anybody who has one, with particular regard to:
We almost exclusively use hardwoods, some quite large (we recently made some frames with 70mm x 70mm European Oak) would it be up to this?
What about reliability and servicing?
I think these do not have a manual option, does anybody keep their old manual machine for backup, how often has it been needed. I cant think of anything worse than having a large job to get out and having no working Morso!
Anything else relevent really
Thanks for any help.

Electro Hydraulic Morso
The Electro Hydraulic Morso is available in two versions or three if you include
The XL model for Extra wide Mouldings
Model EH Standard / General Framing or Model EH Turbo / For Production
Advantages
1. Much faster on wide mouldings & easier on the legs when cutting hardwoods
2. Takes up the same space as your standard Morso F
3. Quite & does not require extraction like a saw
4. Reliable / Accurate & Parts and servicing are readily available depending on your supplier.
5. Available in single or three Phase version
6. You can maintain the same speed all day so your output increases
Disadvantages
1. Requires a little bit more care when setting your rebate supports, but used right produces quality cuts
2. Slow if you are only cutting Narrow Mouldings compared to the standard Model taking two cuts
Conclusion
Overall the advantages definitely out weigh the disadvantages providing the maximum width of cut
is wide enough for your requirements.
