About 1400 miles round trip, 750 miles with half a ton of glass creaking behind me !. Took 4 hours to unload but the sun was shining so not so bad. Not a single sheet broken.
Jacked up the opposite side to make it safer to unload. Should have thought of that at your place.
Hope your new venture is a success.

You can't beat the old LandRover.
Sounds like a heck of a trip. I see you had a good supply of giant toilet rolls handy.

When I left Milli's I only had two ratchet straps securing the frame and one of those came off !. For the trip north I used 7 straps.
The land rover is a godsend and will last longer than I will on this planet -ish. I get really p....d off by the people who condemn these vehicles, there is no reason why it will not be still on the road in 40 years time. Most people will have had 4-6 cars in that time so by my reckoning it is greener than a prius. I also only do around 6k miles per year effectively halving my co2 emissions.

Too right.
There's not many vehicles that size that would haul 200 sheets of glass 700 miles.

wouldn't have wanted to brake too fast with all that glass behind me.

On the way to Hannover, via Dover I turned a landrover over on the Andover flyover.

As white as the driven snow and no need for the jumbo toilet rolls.... Oh ok, two of the ratchet straps were around my ankles

I'm confused.
Which one? (I was referring to your pic of the truck in my previous post, if that helps.)

Somewhat better than the truck, and thankyou for the change Prospero!
I still shake any time I see an SUV (the vehicle that rear-ended the vehicle in which I was a passenger). If they have bull bars, it's worse again, and don't even
talk to me if it's pulling a trailer (yer man was hauling two bullocks at the time).
