Lo again. I love my 55M but there were one or two minor annoyances with it that I've now fixed. I dunno whether these also apply to The Green One.
First thing was the tendency for mouldings to 'slide' left (moved I think by the action of the rebate/rabbit guides). The fix was to apply 3M non-slip tread strips to the left side of the platen. This also equalises the slight height difference caused by the stick-on measuring tape on the rhs. Skate board non slip tape will do just as well.
Second thing was a "clang" at the end of the down stroke. A bit annoying late at night. So what I did was get hold of a grommet same fit as the shaft and hey presto no more noise.
I hope the pix tell the story and this of some use...cheers Markie

Never seen a Cassese chopper. Looks very similar in parts to it's green relations. There is a Morso add-on that holds the rebate guides at a set distance relative to the fences, as the cutting block moves. This prevents the niggle you describe. Dunno if it would fit the Casssese.
I posted a pic somewhere else on the forum...... if I can find it.
Hello Prospero. The rebate guides on the French fellow are close to perfect. They have a spring action which makes fitting under the rebate easy. There's an Allen bolt head under (which in my opinion should be a roller bearing) which if it's too snug against the moulding can cause that sideway movement I mentioned - not a big deal just something to be wary of. And the non-slip tread trick has all but eliminated it. Phew, that was a gobful, have to have a cup of tea now.
