Another area I have been pondering is that surely some of this 'modern' art isn't worth preserving,

In addition, how would you perserve some of it. Here I am thinking of Damien thingy-ma-bobs 'any old cr**' the delightful used piece of toilet roll that he entered into a gallery to prove that people will buy any old s***! I repeat my question how would you preserve that? Which leads me to why would you want to?

of course all art can not be preserved. Ballet, contemporary dance, performance...etc. can not be! is that not to say they are not art, sometimes the best art is that which is transient! it does not take away from it, but (in my opinion) adds to it. All life, human endevor is a form of expression...therefore - art.

maybe a new forum is needed, what is art? in my opinon everything!

may i be so bold as to say framing is a part of the arts ?
