Hi
Can anyone tell me the best place to get morso blades sharpened?
As I’ve just put my so called sharpened blades on today, and they turned out blunter then when I sent them off
I don’t want to name who did it but I will be complaining. Just don't want to use them again.
91 people ( mostly framers I assume) have looked at this post, but not one has suggested where to go. I find this bizarre! I thought this site was where one framer helps another?
I'm not a framer, but can I suggest you try Lion in Birmingham. I know they sharpen a lot of Morso blades.
Hi Matt
Difficult one to answer. We use the local engineering firm here in Helston. But that wouldnt really help you. Those beasts in the boxes are quite heavy so would be expensive on postage.
Surely you have some type of engineering firm around you that specialise in sharpening blades - from chainsaws to handsaws to farming machinery - Take a walk through Yellow pages or whatever they are called now. I bet any decent one you pick will have experience with MORSO blades, but please ask them whether they hollow grind or flat grind. That can make quite a difference. There is a thread somewhere on here on that topic.
Good Luck
we use west cornwall saw services who collect in many areas of the westcountry weekly, for your area you might try Venton Enterprises, (w devon) as they have a van service to dorset. I believe they recently changed the contractor who used to do their blades for them. They may even have the proper morso sharpening machine, since they merged with WAF who had one of their own. Lion will do them by post, and you cant go wrong with lion.
Thanks to Keith for starting the ball rolling I
was felling a bit left out in the cold.
I've since found out that where I sent them to have changed who
sharpens them, and i'm not the only one thats had problems. It's amazing what you find out from the van drivers
I always thought that it was something specialized, but not really
it all depends on the method.
Lion is one option but for the expense.
I'll be looking though the Yellow pages.
Oh by the way they are being redone, so lets see this time.
