Aluminium Mouldings

Post by The Catcher »

Can anyone advise where I may be able to get an aluminium moulding with an inner rebate of 40mm.

Have tried Arqadia and Nielsens and they are not able to help.

Thanks

Sorry not at the shop at present.
Try looking for ALUMAFRAME. We have been using them for about 3 years now. Very good range of moulding and delivery has always been the following day..

Don't suppose you've been asked to price for aluminium frames to put casts of babies hands and feet in have you, I was about to ask for advice on the same thing

For those who don't want to waste any time on this, I have given a quote to this lady and was advised that she has been quoted the following:
£8-00 for natural wood 8x6
Black 8x6 for £14 from the States including shipping
and aluminium for £16-00

Don't know if those prices include glass, mountboard etc.

I think I would be subsidising her if I had to levy those charges

 and thats just those of us who use this forum and happened to look at the post who remember this enquiry.

Ive also been chased twice by phone for a price, although I'd said "around a tenner, for plain wood, and VAT and delivery on top" I thought that would put her off.

An over the counter shop customer, who was genuinely in the trade, and who I thought would come back might get the same for around £8 each, in plain wood, which include offcuts from our shirt frames and medal cases and on a "when we have the time" basis.

Shame a lot of these enquirers (enquirees??) who cut and past the same enquiry to every framer whose email address they can find dont realise that we mostly dont want or need a one off job from someone whose going to be trying to find it cheaper again next time.

And are we therefore all ready for the "ok if i have a hundred how much are they" and "so can you send me a sample, of say, 10, at that price please" gag.
The old ones are the best.
