which Mount Laminator machine

Post by CanvasChris »

I am looking to invest in a mounting/laminating machine. I have seen the Hot Press Jetmounter JM26 which is adequate in size for what I need, however it has a maximum thickness of material of 19mm, which is slightly limiting.

I have trawled the net, not the best at it, and not found much else. Lion do a manual one that can go to 35mm but I think a powered one would be better.

Can anyone suggest anything to help in my quest?

Thanks in advance

Are you going to Focus on Imaging at the NEC?

I would have thought manufacturers will be well represented and unlike Springfair numbers of visitors are going up.

John.

Thanks for your response John and yes... going to Focus.

I will be taking samples to mount but just wanted to be clued up on what is out there and not miss anything.

I would really like a machine that would mount onto 20 - 25mm acrylic. I want to mount these as deskblocks and the only ones I have found that do this are the really wide ones and very expensive! and a bit overkill. The JM26 only has a maximum opening of 19mm so I am assuming 20mm is too thick.

My client base is professional photog's and need to widen my portfolio of products and acrylic is proving quite popular at the moment. I have been using the 'sandwich' panels, however I have some ideas on making large multi image panels that would require mounting and the JM26 is quite adequate on that front but it's just the desk block idea that has fallen short... guess there's a compromise on everything.

Does anyone here have any experience with these and what have you got?
