Re: British knighthood, peerage and other stuff
I get a variety of them in my shop - but Im now really looking forward to the next Viscount. mmmm minty.
I live in an area where theres everything from heir to the throne and associated princes and Princesses- to Dukes Earls, Viscounts (ummm) Lords of various varieties and their off spring - honourable this and that. we even have a couple of Sheiks. Never know what to call them- Sir - Mam seem to suffice - Do know that bishops and Dukes should be addressed as your grace. Prince Charles has a shop very close to mine - but I dont think he needs to make a living out of it in the same way as I do.

I only knew that because I'm a (lapsed) cradle Catholic. If memory serves, cardinals are addressed as "Your Eminence" (but don't quote me... ) Can't remember for the life of me how to address a monsignor...markw wrote:... bishops ... should be addressed as your grace.
Just wondering about judges. When does one use 'M'Lud' or 'Your Honour' in court? And how does one address a judge outside a courtroom?

Enjoy
But, I’m more confused than ever. It must take people a lifetime of study to know all this.

I think you have to be born to it. They say the knowledge is in the genes.
