Viewing links on the Forum

Hi Folks,

Just been browsing the post on jerseys and there was a link to 'attach EZ' wesite so i clicked on it.

normally when i do this in other websites a seperate window opens up but the website is still on the bottom bar so when im done i just close the link and im back to the original websit (in this case the forum).

however this doesnt happen here. it bugs me cos i have to go back through the 10 pages i've viewed to get back to the forum.

does this happen anyone else or is there some way around this that i'm not aware of?

If you are using one of the latest versions of Internet Explorer then the easiest way is to right click on the link and open in new tab

Should you be on an older version and want to upgrade it is free at the Microsoft website. Here is the link (not forgetting to right click of course):

I don’t have access to my web design software at the moment, but on some sites when you click an external link, there is internal code that tells the current page to close so you cannot use the back button to return to it (like the FF).

Other pages on other sites (like The Grumble) does not have HTML code that tells the window to close (or has code to tell it to remain open – I forget at the moment). It remains open while you poke around other sites. When that other site is finally closed, you return to the still opened page that you previously left. (Man, that sounds more confusing than it is!)

When I designed my web page with external links to, say, art materials suppliers, I wanted to make sure that they would return to my site when they finished. I didn’t want them to forget where they started in case I could ensnare them with other cleverly written and brilliantly executed stuff on my site.

That sounds a bit megalomanical to me. Shouldn't that say "a leader...."? Nothing wrong with blowing your own trumpet, but a unilateral declaration that you have a bigger trumpet than anyone else.....?
