Cassese CS88 Lubrication

Post by Pharos Framing »

Just after some general advice on which bits of my CS88 to lubricate! When I bought it it came with a bottle of lubricating oil, so obviously it needs some somewhere!

I'm assuming the pulley wheels might need a bit of oiling, but would appreciate some more specific info on what else needs to be oiled and where exactly to apply it (and equally which bits should remain oil-free!).

Thanks in advance.

Hi Eric

I've never seen a bottle of oil supplied with a Cs88 underpinner but they do supply a tube of Molykote grease.
If its the grease you are refering to then it is for lubricating the wedge distributor block - nothing else, do not apply it to the pulleys as it is not needed.
