Has anyone ever used frame moulding as a picture rail in their homes,if so how did they get on,or are there any reasons not to use it?

Re: frame moulding for picture rail??
I've used picture rail moulding for frames.
If you used a reverse section with the rebate pointing up, I can't see any difficulties.
I've also used frame moulding for window/door trim.

Yeah rebate towards ceiling, thats what I was thinking of. Just thought using some of my own moulding would be as good as buying "picture rail".
