Value of a Morso

Post by WLM »

Hi,

I'm not a picture framer, my father was. I found the Morso Guillotine (foot operated) he used in the back of the shed recently. It hasn't been used in about 15 years but it seems to be working o.k.
Is there a secondary market for these machines? Has anyone any idea what these things are worth?

There definitely is a secondary market - check the sales and wants forum here and also Ebay for price guides.

Not being used for 15 years is a big plus - give it a good lubricate and scrub up and go for it!

Just to give an idea I followed and bid for 5 or 6 on ebay thinking I could get one for £400 in the two months I tried I failed so I bought one of here on the forum for £500 and I travelled 230miles there and the same back but there was a few extra goodies thrown in since then I have seen scruffy ones sold from possible kitchen fitters sell for under £300 although £500 to £800 seems to be the going rate on Ebay It might be worth investing in a good clean and ebay it, AFTER you have tried the for sale section on here first, also lion http://www.lionpic.co.uk/ will let you advertise for free
The other thing is to carry on the family tradition and learn framing you have a morso youre half way there it might be in your genes

Thanks guys, much appreciate it.
I'll stick it up in the Sales area - I think I'll stick to the day job for the moment, let someone else make better use of it.
