Dry Mount Backing

Post by charlesB »

I am looking for a cheap board for use in a drymount press, one that will not show the orange peel affect, I use the dry P.V.A. method for adhesion. any suggestions Regards CharlesB

I do not do a lot of dry mounting, but when I do I use artcare restore - it is not cheap but as it can also double up as a frame backing board you are saving on that and some time. There is no need to insert a board and a sheet of heat activated film, the heat activated adhesive is incorporated. It is an excellent, reversible product and a lot of American framers use it as their default mounting board.
