Petrushka

Post by Roboframer »

A good customer (and a fantastic freestyle embroiderer) brought this in last week.

It was a photo in the Telegraph Magazine - 1990, by Lord Snowdon, of some famous Russian dancer in the role of Petrushka, which she copied, enlarged, traced on to fabric and stitched. She tells us that she now has a printer that will print direct on fabric!

We took it out of its naff frame - (against the glass - but still, seems in good nick and no fading), cut off (with her permission) the edges that had been folded over the mount and glued with something pretty nasty and sewed on calico extensions for lacing - it's also padded now but you can't really notice that as the mount is just dropped over for the photo.

(Apols for photos appearing in reverse order)
