less is more? and a nice background tale

Nothing flash. And imho all the better for it.
I find that jobs like this clear your head of all the pretentious bollox, and get you back to what the framing job is about.

One of a series for HMS Ark Royal.

In 40x12mm oak (what else?) briwax clear polished. Colormount Charcoal inner, 4mm reveal to Arquadia Hayseed outer, 10mm bottom weighted, True-vue conservation clear.
goes with a matching set including naval letter, and present day photo of one of the airmen who signed the print, the gentleman later credited with the torpedo which took out the Bismark's rudder. Nice part of the story is that we got a look at his log book entry for that day.
Its just one of those "less is more", old-school-framing jobs that was a pleasure to do, on many levels. By tuesday it'll be screwed on a bulkhead on HMS Ark Royal. Nice job to finish off on before the easter break.
