speed mount or similar self adh. mountboard

Is there any benefits on using the above over normal mount tissue together with mount board in my Hotpress.

On the face of it it does appear a little simpler to use.

Faster, cleaner, cheaper

For basic poster dry mountIng I use standard heat activated foam board vs the premium "speed mount" foam board

For thin posters I use heat activated board, simply because cheap posters tend to cocky and if you put them in rollers they have a nasty tendency of creasing. If you press whilost you machine is warming up ie 30- 40 degrees then it has chance to flatten the artwork for th glue sets. If you don't the glue sets at the edge living a bubble.

For Photographs I tend to use self adhesive mount board mainly because my press is quite pitted and can leave marks on shiney photo's.
