**** in the Attic
What is it about this time of year that makes people bring in all the dusty old carp they find in the attic which must be framed in time for Christmas?
I have had a load of it in this week most of which hasn't seen the light of day for years.
Could it be:
(a) They have been up in the loft to get down the Xmas decs and trippped over it.
(b) Aunt Mable is coming to stay and she may notice the family heirloom she gave has not been put up on the wall.

Re: **** in the Attic
There is this ace progamme on UK TV called "Cash in the attic" - which all us lazy reps - who should be out working - can watch on daytime TV - because we are "working from home"...
My missus has another name for "Tat in the attic" - I think that sums up where Johnny is coming from!!!!
Now - back tothe daytime TV & "Timewasters" Team - another great programme where they come & dig up your back garden - just to find a coke can & the remains of a dead dog

Attics are very good places for shoving carp into. Mine is full of carp. Once in the attic it very rarely comes out again.

Re: **** in the Attic
I love the word 'tat'. Hear it sometimes on UK TV shows about antiques. We don't use it down here. Another one we don't use is 'bespoke', which always amuses me.
I don't care if customer brings me 'tat' to frame. It may be precious to them, so I'll frame it for them and treat it as if it were precious.

I have had a couple of salmon in there as well but they tend to go off . I find it is better to smoke them first...... but they are a b*gger to role
Re: **** in the Attic
We don't have 'tat' round here. We have 'kelter'.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that would really P*** me right off
LOOSE ????????
Loose instead of lose at the best of times gets me apoplectic, but having to pay for the privilege of displaying it on my wall would drive me right over the edge.

Re: **** in the Attic
Hello john,
Well it's not really a grammatical error.
It's utterly the wrong word, it might just as well say, "......because they always supercalafradgelisticexpyallydotious track of time......"
Anyway what do I know, the framing looks good.....or does it?

Re: **** in the Attic
Perhaps the customer supplied the plaque along with the fish???
Is it really the job of the framer to question the clients grammatical ability......

Yes absolutely, without question, every time, yep!blokman wrote:Perhaps the customer supplied the plaque along with the fish???

If the engraver is a twit tell the customer, the twit can then be made to do a proper job and then I'll frame it.
Easy innit?
Bear.

Don't you think there should be more to a job than just the money?blokman wrote:Yep... very easy, take the money and do the job...........
Silly question, of course you don't.
I guess we cant all expect to want to see a job done properly. However I find it hard to imagine a customer who wouldn't.
