Main suppliers are Winsor & Newton and Rowney.
Unless you want to stock art materials to a level that will be demanded by the local public and art societies in sufficient volume; quite honestly there is not a decent mark-up to warrant holding the stock you will have to carry.
Sold art materials years ago from the above two suppliers, not now, it's just not worth it.

Measure twice - cut once
I agree with Foxy - but anyway - D&J Simons carry an extensive range of artist materials, no big brand names - which is probably what customers will want - at least regards paints, but maybe not brushes.
Just an idea - you can add the stuff to mouding orders, kill two birds and save on carriage.
It's good stuff, I don't sell it but I use it.
A visit to the art and hobbycraft show at the NEC (about 2 weeks after the Spring Fair) would be an eye opener.

Folow on trading
Thanks for the advice, have been to a few small framing shops that seem to do quite well framing for local artists. Thought that by selling supplies it might draw them in???

its better to get the local art shop on side, works two ways. They send customers for framing, you dont tread on their toes by selling materials.
And if there isn't a local art shop.... then why not become the local art shop
we do sell the odd bit of mount board to artists though, and we have sold art (teach yourself) books in the past.
