Framers points vs flexipoints

Post by CalicoFraming »

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between framers points and flexipoints? Apologies if this is a very basic question

Thanks

Framers points are rigid flexi points are designed for frames which need pictures taking out on a regular basis ie photo frames or frames supplied without the artwork put in. However they do not give longterm support and are best not used in fact the FATG don't allow them for conservation leval framing. However I use semi rigids fired from a pneumatic omer gun which can be bent but give alot more support. However because they include the word semi they are again not accepted for conservation framing. \surely the gauge of steel used should be the defining character not the name :giggle: :giggle:

If you are thinking of using flexi points i.e. the ones that bend backwards for later fitment of a photo or similar then you should really think about an air powered point driver. Fletcher do a hand one but the points tend to come out fairly easily.
