Gloss finish swept frame

Post by CalicoFraming »

Hi all,

I urgently need to source a white swept frame, the more elaborate the better. Thing is it has to be a glossy finish.

Know thee of such a thing?

many thanks

Thanks, I just spoke to them and they've got some crazy designs, but they say the finish isn't glossy which is what my customer is demanding

Tin of gloss spray paint. If you are careful you can get quite a good finish. I have done a large pink one for a client :giggle:

You can get things quite glossy if you buff them up with wax and a yellow duster.

If you want the really 'wet look' gloss, see above. :P You might have to build up a few coats.

There is a high street chain of ladies wear shops that has glossy white frames as part of its current window display. Looks quite impressive until you get up close and see they are thin moulded plastic. Fooled me at first glance!

Another option is to finish with a clear coat high gloss Nitrocellulose lacquer obtainable from luthier supplies as an aerosol or in cans.

BUT BUT BUT pre-check on a spare piece for solvent action on the painted under-finish.
