Dinner like a pig ........
Owner of a pub in Godalming brought me an absolute shedful of stuff to frame/reframe today - why come all this way - well she owns a whole load of pubs and hotels in the South and lives in our village .... annnnnnnyway ....
There were a few montage boards - just photos and photocopied snippets and this was on one of them....
The Kings arms and Royal Hotel, Godalming...

Quarter of a lamb
10 pullets
12 chickens
3 qts of brandy (!!!!)
6 qts mulled wine (!!!!!!!!!!)
7 doz eggs and salad in proportion.
DINNER
5 ribs of beef weighing 3 stone
1 sheep
Fifty six and three quarter (!) lbs of lamb
1 shoulder of veal
8 rabbits
2 doz and a half of sack (sac ?)
1 doz claret.
All between 21 people"
So - a quart is two pints - six pints of brandy between 21 = almost quarter of a pint each and then not far off a pint of mulled wine each FOR BREAKFAST!!!
3 stone of beef - that's 42lbs - so 2lbs each - even more lamb, plus the rabbit, veal and mutton.
