Re: Hello from Halifax
Hi and welcome.
I know Halifax and the Piece Hall well. I used to have a darkroom at Dean Clough and had my first solo photograghy exhibition there back in 2005. My work is still on display in the corridor of E-Mill if you ever visit Dean Clough. We used to enjoy performances by Northern Broadsides there. Anyway, enjoy the forum

Thanks David, I will certainly have a pop down! I used to work down in D MIll and F MIll so I know the place well
We had a recent exhibition in our gallery for a Photographer called Mark Voce - Shadows of Industry. You maybe know him, he loves his archival print processing and traditional photography stuff!

Hi Jo,
Welcome aboard!!!
You will find a friendly crowd here & please don't be afraid to ask any questions - there is no such thing as a silly question - but do be prepared for a few silly answers - depending on the "wine" of night...
Please also check out the FF Live event - which is only a couple of weeks away - a bit of a trek to Stratford - but all free & a great chance to see a good variety of stuff & chat with other forum folk in a very easy going atmosphere - all in all "A Grand Day Out"!!!

Re: Hello from Halifax
Never met Mark Voce but know his work well. Always a bit envious of folk who keep up with traditional printing although I still use film and do my own processing I now scan and print. When we lived in Scotland I learnt how to print polymer photogravures and realized it was a great way to combine traditional film photography with computer editing and intaglio printing with an etching press. So I went out and bought an etching press. Then I got into framing Will have to devote more time to my photography soon
